M. Jill Dougherty

Jill Dougherty is a Partner at WeirFoulds LLP whose practice is dedicated to public law and civil litigation. She has significant expertise in professional self-regulation and discipline, judicial review of government decision making, alcohol and gaming, access to information and privacy, and Aboriginal land claims. Jill also has substantial experience in specialized real estate related litigation that engages public law considerations, including matters involving controlled access highways, municipal roads, road allowances, and beaches. She has represented numerous municipalities and private sector clients in litigation arising from Aboriginal land claims. Jill is consistently recognized by leading legal directories in the areas of Administrative and Public Law and Litigation. She has served as an instructor in the public law section of the Bar Admission Course and has contributed to the development of its course materials. In addition, she has taught at the Intensive Trial Advocacy program and at various programs offered by The Advocates’ Society, and she regularly presents papers at legal seminars and conferences.
