Marcia is a partner and co-leader of Crawford Munroe Thomson LLP’s Victoria office. She is a highly accomplished labour, employment and human rights lawyer with over 35 years in practice. She represents public and private sector employers with a specific focus on municipalities, police services boards and high-tech companies. She has frequently appeared before British Columbia’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, as well as before administrative tribunals, including the provincial and federal Human Rights Tribunal, labour arbitrators and the BC Labour Relations Board. Marcia is a bencher for the Law Society of BC and has also held significant roles on provincial labour boards including acting as former counsel with the BC Labour Relations Board and Public Service Employee Relations Commission. She is also the former Chair of the BC Industry Training Appeal Board and former Vice Chair of the Community Care and Assisted Living Appeal Board of British Columbia. Notably, Marcia conducted a high-profile independent review for the BC government that led to significant changes in policies regarding employee investigation, suspension and termination. Her career is defined by a commitment to procedural fairness, administrative law, and professional regulation.
