Maria Sagan

Maria Sagan is a highly respected financial services lawyer with over fifteen years of experience representing both borrowers and lenders. She has deep expertise in domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional financings and routinely acts for major Canadian and foreign banks, private equity firms and domestic and international corporations. Maria advises on a wide range of financing transactions, including secured and unsecured lending, asset-based lending, acquisition finance, derivatives and structured transactions, securitizations, syndicated loans and debtor-in-possession (DIP) financings. Her practical and solutions-focused approach is informed by her secondment with the derivatives legal group of a leading Canadian bank, where she gained valuable insight into negotiating derivatives contracts with global financial institutions.
