With over thirty years of legal experience, Marie Annik Walsh has focused primarily on family law since 1993 and has practised as a family law mediator since the early 2000s. She joined Dunton Rainville in 2012 to build the firm's family law practice and currently serves on its board of directors. Ms. Walsh has been an active member of the Association des avocats et avocates en droit familial du Québec (AAADFQ) since 1998, serving on its board of directors until 2024 and holding several executive roles, including President. She also sits on the Superior Court Liaison Committee for the Montreal district. Over the course of her career, Ms. Walsh has advised, supported, and represented hundreds of clients, arguing as many cases before the courts. This extensive practice has given her a deep understanding of the profound impact separation has on families, as well as the vulnerabilities created by Quebec's limited legal framework for de facto unions. That understanding drives her strong interest in the new provisions governing de facto spouses and future parents, in force since June 30, 2025. A recognized voice in her field, Ms. Walsh regularly contributes to media discussions on family law and appears before parliamentary commissions of the Quebec government.
