Marie-Claude’s practice is focused on environmental and natural resource law, as well as energy and public law, both provincially and federally. She advises clients – including forestry, oil, mining and chemical companies, industrial entrepreneurs, petroleum distributors, real estate developers and financiers – on a wide variety of compliance and regulatory matters such as authorizations and permits, reporting, regulatory requirements (air, water, contaminated lands, endangered species, protected areas, etc.), inspections and investigations, as well as on climate change and greenhouse gas pricing matters. She also provides support to clients on the environmental aspects of their complex transactions and litigation matters, and is a frequent speaker on environmental matters at conferences in Québec and in Ontario. (Toromont) completed the largest acquisition in its history — a $1.07-billion purchase of the businesses and net operating assets of the Hewitt Group of companies (Hewitt) in exchange for cash and shares of Toromont. This was a transformative transaction for Toromont, significantly expanding its Caterpillar dealership network and market opportunities.
Sprague Resources LP (Sprague) completed its indirect acquisition of all of the equity interests in Kildair Service Ltd. (Kildair) through the acquisition from Sprague International Properties LLC (the Vendor), of the equity interests of Kildair’s parent, Sprague Canadian Properties LLC.
