Mark Kortbeek has experience in the areas of infrastructure development, commercial real estate, and commercial law. His infrastructure practice focuses on providing advice to owners/developers and contractors in connection with local and international projects including infrastructure, electric transmission, power, and LNG projects. This includes providing advice in relation to public–private partnerships and with drafting and negotiating a range of agreements, including design, engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) contracts, advice regarding procurement and contract administration issues, and other ancillary matters. In the commercial real estate area his practice focuses on the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate and property development. Mark also provides advice on a range of commercial issues including advising on business structures, corporate reorganizations, financings, and governance issues. He supports both domestic and international clients involved in the power, transmission, and pipeline areas, property developers, agribusinesses, and health-care service providers. Mark is a director of the Edmonton Bar Association and has lectured on various legal topics in his area.
