Mark V. Lewis practises in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, development, financing, and leasing, with an emphasis on mixed-use, industrial, and resort developments, infrastructure projects, and commercial financing transactions. Mark has extensive experience acting for buyers and sellers of commercial properties; advising clients with respect to zoning, bylaw, and other real estate regulatory compliance matters; structuring co-ownership, joint venture, and partnership relationships for development projects; handling project financing transactions for institutional lenders and advising private capital lenders in connection with mezzanine, equity, and profit participation loans; acting for surety companies on deposit protection insurance transactions; and negotiating commercial leases. Mark has also acted extensively in connection with industrial infrastructure and seniors housing portfolio transactions, school site acquisition and development, the ownership, operation, and disposition of railway assets; the development of golf, ski, and marine resort properties; sale/leaseback transactions involving industrial properties; and the acquisition of government land tenures, including those associated with mining, forestry, and oil & gas properties.
