Marko Vesely

Marko practises civil and commercial litigation with a focus on class actions, defamation, cross-border disputes, shareholder disputes, pension litigation, and commercial arbitrations. He has appeared as lead counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and at all levels of court in British Columbia and Alberta. He has also served as an arbitrator. Marko is a regular commentator on legal affairs on CBC television, CBC radio, CKNW radio, News 1130, the Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, BC Business magazine, Lexpert Magazine, and Canadian Corporate Counsel magazine. He is a guest lecturer at the UBC Faculty of Law (trial advocacy, media law), University of Victoria Faculty of Law (class actions), and the UBC Graduate School of Journalism (media law). He is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada for Corporate & Commercial Litigation, and Defamation & Media Law; Chambers Canada for Litigation: General Commercial; and by Benchmark Litigation as a Litigation Star. He is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. He is called to the Bars of British Columbia (2000) and Alberta (2015).
