Melissa Oakley is the strategic, innovative, and entrepreneurial Founding Lawyer of Oakley Family Law. She holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Management (Honours) from the University of British Columbia. Blending creativity with cost-benefit analysis, Melissa crafts client-centred solutions that are not only legally sound, but practical and sustainable to reduce conflict and help families move forward with clarity. In addition to her legal practice, Melissa is a passionate educator and mentor. Previously an instructor of business law at the University of Calgary, Melissa continues to coach law, business, and articling students through the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership, and the Law Society of Alberta respectively. She also offers a free mentorship program to students across Canada who wish to become lawyers in the future. Deeply committed to access to justice and community service, Melissa has served in numerous volunteer and advisory roles involving justice system reform initiatives, including through Calgary Legal Guidance and Legal Aid Alberta.
