Melissa Tehrani is a partner at Gowling WLG's Montréal office and leader of the firm's National Advertising & Regulatory Group, practising in the area of advertising, marketing and regulatory law. Melissa advises national and international corporations in the e-commerce, consumer goods, retail, financial services, automotive and telecommunications industries with respect to their provincial and federal legal obligations. Her main areas of practice include advertising copy review and pre-approvals; digital media; sponsorship, agency and advertising services agreements; contest and promotion design and review; class action litigation; consumer protection law; automotive advertising; consumer-oriented financial products/agreements; packaging and labelling; children’s advertising; ACTRA and UDA issues; French language requirements; and privacy, data protection and direct marketing. Melissa authored the Canadian chapter of the leading international book International Advertising Law (Wolters Kluwer) and is a contributing author of Advertising and Marketing Law in Canada (LexisNexis). She is the co-editor and a frequent contributor to Gowling WLG's Advertising & Product Regulatory publication, AdBytes.
