Merie-Anne Beavis is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office and is a member of the Energy, Infrastructure and Mining Groups. Her practice focuses on projects, project finance, infrastructure, public-private partnerships, mining and secured lending. She advises key stakeholders across a variety of projects and sectors including lenders, sponsors, contractors and various levels of government. Recent representative transactions led by Merie-Anne include advising Infrastructure Ontario and the Sponsors in connection with a number of projects, including Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, the 401 West Expansion Project, the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital and the CAMH Phase1D Forensic Project. She has regularly been recognized in Chambers Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Legal 500 Canada among other respected publications.
On October 21, 2016, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Mackenzie Health (MH) announced that financial close was reached on the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital in Ontario’s York Region. In August 2016, Plenary Health was awarded the fixed-price contract to design, build, finance and maintain the new hospital.
