The claim was settled after one day of discovery of the defendant's CEO for the amount sought in the statement of claim, plus costs ($2.9 million all-inclusive); (2) Stewart v. Demme, 2022 ONSC 1790 (Div Ct), 2020 ONSC 83, a successful defence appeal and decertification of a class action on behalf of a hospital nurse sued for intrusion upon seclusion (invasion of privacy). Ten individual actions against the nurse were later dismissed; and, (3) Gallagher v. Todish, 2023 ONSC 4894, a successful summary judgment motion on behalf of an auto insurer upholding the termination of an auto policy.
