Michael is a partner who advises on corporate law, capital markets, restructuring and insolvency, mergers & acquisitions, private equity and investment funds, banking, and gaming. A substantial part of his practice focuses on third-party legal opinions for commercial transactions—particularly secured financing deals. Michael regularly prepares, negotiates, and reviews Davies’ opinions, as well as those of firms on the other side of transactions. He has written extensively on corporate law issues and is frequently involved in research into corporate and commercial legal issues. Michael has participated in professional initiatives such as the Canadian Bar Association’s Ontario Personal Property Security Opinion Committee. On December 3, 2015, Bruce Power L.P. (Bruce Power) and the Independent Electricity System Operator (the IESO) entered into the Amended and Restated Bruce Power Refurbishment Implementation Agreement (the ARBPRIA) to extend the operating life of the Bruce Power facility to 2064.
