Naseem Mithoowani, co-founder of Mithoowani Waldman Immigration Law Group, has over 15 years of dedicated experience in immigration and refugee law. Her practice focuses on assisting clients with complex matters including inadmissibility, deportation and exclusion from refugee protection. She regularly appears before the Federal Court of Canada on judicial review applications and has participated in three separate interventions before the Supreme Court of Canada, advancing issues of national legal significance. Naseem also acts as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she teaches immigration and refugee law. She is a contributing author to the University of Toronto volume Systemic Islamophobia: A Research Agenda, where she wrote a chapter examining the intersection of systemic discrimination and immigration processes. In 2021, Naseem was appointed by the Government of Canada to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, where she served as a part-time adjudicator. She also contributes to community leadership through her service on the Board of Directors of Islamic Relief Canada, as a City of Toronto representative with the Crescent Town Community Club, and as a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers' Association.
