Natasha Carew is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. A commercial litigator, she has experience in complex construction, and infrastructure and commercial disputes, Natasha advises a wide range of clients—including developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, design professionals, suppliers, lenders, and joint venture partners—involved in both private and public projects, including those delivered through public-private partnerships (P3s). She regularly advises on disputes – including breach of contract claims, construction and design deficiencies, delay and disruption disputes and claims under Ontario’s Construction Act, including construction liens, breaches of trust, prompt payment, adjudication, and priority issues - arising from large-scale developments and infrastructure projects including condos, university campuses, wind farms, gold mines, bridges, transit systems, stadia and hospitals. Natasha also has significant experience acting in a range of commercial disputes, including oppression and derivative actions, shareholder and partnership disputes, insolvency and restructuring matters, consulting agreements, commercial leasing and insured claims. She has been an adjunct professor at both Osgoode Hall and Windsor Law Schools.
