Nisha is a strategic, creative, and fearless advocate who provides comprehensive advice on Canadian and multi-jurisdictional litigation. Her practice focuses primarily on patent litigation across sectors including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and oil and gas. She also advises on intellectual property and litigation strategy, and supports pharmaceutical clients on Health Canada regulatory matters. In life sciences, Nisha has represented both brand and generic companies in patent infringement actions and proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. She is also recognized for expertise in Standards-Essential Patents (SEPs) and (F)RAND remedies, with experience litigating software and telecommunications cases involving these novel issues. A scientist-turned-litigator, Nisha earned a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, and cancer from McMaster University before completing her law degree at the University of Toronto. She is active in the legal community, regularly speaking on advocacy and IP panels, judging moots, teaching trial advocacy, and mentoring young lawyers. Nisha is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and a member of the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute.
