Paul is chair of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP’s National Real Estate practice. He has extensive experience in acquisitions and divestitures of real estate, commercial leasing, mortgage financings and environmental matters. He has deep experience in the leasing of all asset classes (office, retail and industrial), in all settings and across Canada. Paul has also acted on co-ownerships, joint ventures, development transactions, major pipeline easements and sophisticated ground leases. He has particular expertise advising foreign retailers entering or exiting the Canadian market, including Forever 21, Starbucks, Uniqlo, Ann Taylor, Vitamin Shoppe and Chico’s, and Canadian retailers on their expansion across Canada. He is a former member of the Cabinet and Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario) – Real Property Section.
On October 3, 2006 Georgia Gulf Corporation of Atlanta, Georgia completed its previously announced acquisition of Royal Group Technologies Limited of Toronto in an all cash and assumed debt transaction, which values Royal Group at approximately $1.7 billion.
