Paula Clancy is a partner and trademark agent in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office and is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in IP (Trademarks). Her clients range from SMEs to prominent public companies, including global brands in tech, fashion, consumer goods, cosmetics, food and beverage, sports, banking, manufacturing, and life sciences. Paula assists in-house counsel with trademark filing strategies, global portfolio management and procurement. Paula has served on the executive of a number of Canadian and international IP and trademark associations, including as President of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the International Trademark Association. She is currently Vice-President for AIPPI Canada. A past recipient of the Ottawa Business Journal's Top 40 Under Forty Award and Distinctive Women Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Paula has been recognized in World Trademark Review Global Leaders, World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000, Lexpert'sLeading 500 Cross-Border Lawyers: A Guide to Doing Business in Canada 2025, and IP Trademarks, The Best Lawyers in Canada and the Legal 500 Canada.
