Since obtaining his Doctor of Laws degree, has become one of Canada’s foremost authorities on natural resources, energy, and environment law. Has worked on important, varied files relating to the acquisition, development, and exploitation of natural resources (mining deposits, petroleum, and natural gas) at all stages (prospecting, exploration, development, pre-production, and operation); rehabilitation and restoration of mining sites; negotiation and drafting of impact and benefits agreements with Native communities; preparation and implementation of environmental management systems; and reviewing environmental compliance. Participated in preparation of laws and regulations implementing land, mining, resource, and environmental regimes provided for in the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement settling Native claims in Northern Québec. Québec Bar, 1968. Lecturer of mining law in Master of Business Law program, Faculty of Law of University of Montréal, since 2007. Rated since 2006, and named 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 Lawyer of the Year, Montréal, natural resources, mining and Aboriginal in The Best Lawyers in Canada.
