R. Graham Phoenix

Graham is the founder and leader of the Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring Practice Group at Loopstra Nixon LLP. He is equally at home representing clients in the courtroom and the boardroom. In insolvency and restructuring scenarios, Graham’s experience spans all sectors of business and industry. He represents and advises clients in turnarounds, refinancings, reorganizations, distressed investments and sales, security enforcement, liquidations, and formal proceedings under Canada’s insolvency laws and other corporate and commercial statutes. He also has cross-border experience. Graham has appeared in insolvency proceedings across Canada, before the Supreme Court of Canada, and in the US Bankruptcy Court. In both distressed and conventional corporate and commercial settings, he acts for businesses, lenders, creditors, investors, shareholders, entrepreneurs, trustees, and other court-appointed officers. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada, has taught as an adjunct professor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law (Toronto Metropolitan University), and is consistently recognized by peers as a leading lawyer in insolvency and financial restructuring law.
