National leader of BLG’s Transportation Group, Robin understands that the transportation industry is constantly evolving as innovation drives new infrastructure. Robin and other members of the group he leads assist transportation clients with litigation; insurance; licensing; approvals; safety and compliance advice; enforcement, including quasi-criminal and administrative tribunal work, acquisitions; regulatory approvals and advice; commercial agreements; autonomous vehicles and technology; public-private partnerships; and advice on decarbonization and credit mechanisms under Canada’s Clean Fuel Standard. Robin deals with contracts and contractual disputes; distribution and warehousing, including liens on inventory and general security; recovery of property; debt disputes; general corporate and business law issues; CTA matters; and the transportation of dangerous goods. Robin advises ship-owners, operators, charterers, marine terminal operators, warehouses, P&I and defence clubs, trucking and logistics companies, air carriers, airframe and engine manufacturers, FBOs, MROs, airports and insurers for all of these. Robin works with the transportation industry across Canada, including clients investing in green shipping, autonomy, automation, and the growing gig and sharing economy.
