Robin Phillips practises Aboriginal law at JFK Law LLP in Victoria, focusing on negotiation, consultation, and governance. Called to the BC bar in 2016 and the Alberta bar in 2018, she joined JFK Law in 2019 and became a partner in 2024. Her work spans governance, land use, administrative law, contaminated sites, and collaborative dispute resolution. Robin advises Indigenous Nations on a wide range of governance matters, including drafting laws, bylaws, and policies, and navigating the complex jurisdictional landscape on Indigenous lands. She integrates Indigenous legal orders into contemporary legal frameworks and supports clients in developing and implementing legislation, regulations, and related systems. She negotiates government-to-government agreements and works to advance her clients’ visions for their territories, ensuring Indigenous interests remain central. With a strong background in local government law, Robin has worked with communities across BC and Alberta. She is also a mediator on the Civil Roster of Mediate BC and has been working with Mediate BC on the development of an Indigenous Dispute Resolution Hub. Robin holds a JD and BA (Hons.) in English from UBC and previously clerked for five Justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
