A partner in the firm’s Construction Law Group and chair of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, Ryan has built a robust litigation practice that encompasses a wide range of commercial matters specializing in construction law. He frequently acts on breach of contract cases, arbitrations, construction lien matters, shareholder and partnership disputes and adjudications, appearing before various levels of court, private arbitrators and mediators and administrative tribunals. Focused on GTA matters, Ryan has vast experience with mid and hi-rise residential condominium projects, and infrastructure and municipal projects. He skillfully guides clients through every stage of the construction process, from contract formation and risk management to negotiations and adjudication of disputes. He acts on numerous private and public disputes involving matters such as payment of invoices and holdback, scope, unforeseen ground conditions, price escalations, contract terminations, back charges, deficiencies and remediations. He advises on contracts, including CCDC and CCA forms of contracts involving supplementary conditions. Ryan’s deep understanding of the construction landscape positions him ideally to represent clients on all sides of the table, including developers, trades and owners.
