Samantha Ip

Samantha leads the DLA Piper Canada’s insurance team. She is a senior practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the areas of insurance. She has advised leading domestic and international insurers on a multitude of high value coverage assignments, including course of construction, directors and officers, errors and omissions, commercial property and commercial liability policies. Samantha also acts as risk management and monitor counsel on all related coverage risks. She is an advocate and has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, in addition to various tribunals and assisting clients with mediated settlements in multi-action and multi-party litigation. Among her many accolades, Samantha won a precedent-setting lawsuit enforcing corporate identification principles and creating new law in Canada on insurance covenants.
