Shane is a partner in the Litigation group in Toronto. His national commercial litigation practice focuses on complex securities litigation and regulatory matters, shareholder disputes, M&A litigation, proxy litigation, securities enforcement matters, and disputes in the wealth industry. Shane conducts sensitive internal investigations into potential violations of securities law, anti-corruption and bribery legislation, fraud, and regulatory breaches. He’s also experienced in class actions, other commercial litigation, product liability, and professional liability cases in the context of physicians and teachers. Shane frequently speaks at legal and business conferences on topics in securities law, corporate governance, and shareholder disputes. He is an Adjunct Moot Advisor at the University of Toronto for the Corporate Securities Moot and a former adjunct professor of Advanced Securities and member of the teaching team for the Lawyer As Negotiator course at Osgoode Hall Law School. As a member of the firm’s national Pro Bono Committee, Shane manages and is a Designated Representative with the firm’s award-winning Unaccompanied Minors Project, which helps minors navigate the refugee process. He also volunteers as a mentor with the Osgoode Hall Mentorship Program.
