Shannon Whyley, KC, has been a labour lawyer for over 20 years. In 2022, Shannon founded her own law firm, Whyley Legal Counsel & Labour Relations, with a distinct passion for human-oriented leadership and her personal approach to the practice of law, which focusses on accountability, ethics, and authenticity. Shannon has built a team of like-minded professionals and has an extensive background advising unions, employers, and employees on legal issues affecting the workplace. She has represented clients before courts, the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board, the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, and arbitrators. She has assisted union clients with collective bargaining and has negotiated settlements for employees from the front lines up to the chief executive officer level. Shannon has also spoken extensively to audiences in Saskatchewan and Manitoba on legal issues affecting the workplace. Shannon was appointed King’s Counsel in 2025. She is currently a Regional Vice President (Saskatchewan) with the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers. Shannon has also served on the boards of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Saskatchewan and the Albert Childcare Co-operative.
