Sharon specializes in providing regulatory, ESG, environmental law, Aboriginal law, and Indigenous and community relations advice to the infrastructure, mining, energy, construction, technology, agribusiness, and transportation sectors. She has extensive experience advising project teams, operations, management, and boards on governance matters, permitting and regulatory processes, including environmental and impact assessments, transportation of dangerous goods, and director and officer liability. Sharon has a reputation for her ability to progress issues through creating trusting relationships between industry groups, associations, governments, Indigenous and local communities, and the not-for-profit sector. She is recognized for her public policy expertise and is often called upon to provide input into new legislation and policies, more recently she advised on UNDRIP legislation in British Columbia. Before joining Bennett Jones, Sharon was with Rio Tinto, based in Australia and Canada, holding senior positions across many fields including commercial, legal, regulatory, government, and community relations.
