Shawn Doyle is the Principal of McCarthy Tétrault’s Latin America Practice, and a senior member of our mining team. Shawn’s practice focuses on all aspects of the metals and mining industry, with a focus on Latin America. Shawn has vast international experience, resulting from his having spent time working in each of the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He is now based in Chile, where he has spent many years. Shawn’s expertise includes mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, capital markets, and commercial transactions. Recently, he has advised a number of Canadian and foreign mining companies and mining financiers regarding acquisitions and financings in Latin America, as well as advising Latin American companies regarding Canadian mining matters. Recognized as a Latin America expert and a mining industry authority, Shawn has been featured on CNN and CNBC and has spoken at various global conferences. With mining operational experience from his time as a major European mining company’s country manager for Chile, Shawn’s practical knowledge of mining operations distinguishes him from his peers in mining law.
