Tamara has over a decade of experience helping brand owners and creators protect, monetize, and grow their brands in Canada and internationally. She provides strategic advice at all stages of a trademark’s life – from clearance; through filing strategies and prosecution; to licensing and enforcement. Tamara regularly represents clients before the Canadian Trademarks Opposition Board, in opposition and non-use cancellation (section 45) proceedings. Her enforcement practice includes assisting clients with anti-counterfeiting matters, including working with Canadian Border Services to record client rights, and identify and stop suspect counterfeit imports. With a practice that covers both trademark and copyright, Tamara helps established and emerging brand owners and creators craft multi-faceted IP strategies to meet their present needs and facilitate future growth. Tamara works closely with Canadian and international brands and creators across numerous industries, including fashion, entertainment, health and beauty, and pharmaceuticals.
