Tevia Jeffries

Tevia Jeffries is a highly experienced lawyer whose practice spans corporate restructuring, insolvency, bankruptcy, creditors’ remedies and plans of arrangement. She advises debtors, creditors, court officers—including monitors, trustees and receivers—as well as governments and financial institutions on the full range of restructuring and insolvency matters. Her work includes court and out-of-court proceedings, debtor-in-possession financing, distressed asset acquisitions, debt recovery and security realization. Tevia acts for clients across industries such as mining, forestry, energy, technology, real estate, retail, hospitality and education, often on complex multi-party files with significant cross-border elements. Active in the insolvency community, Tevia writes, speaks and contributes to professional organizations. She serves as chair of the board of the ARIL Society Inc., publisher of the Annual Review of Insolvency Law volume and conference, and is involved with the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the International Insolvency Institute. Tevia also teaches in Osgoode’s Financial Law LLM program.
