Travis is a partner with Curtis Dawe in St. John's, NL. He joined the firm upon his call to the bar in 2018 and was named a partner in 2023. Travis works with corporations, governmental entities and individuals to solve their legal needs in a variety of fields. From large commercial financings to incorporating small businesses, Travis has been involved in a variety of matters in his corporate and commercial practice. Travis regularly advises owners, lenders and corporations in real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He represents both creditors and debtors in insolvency proceedings, including general restructuring matters and guarantee claims. Travis frequently advises municipalities and regulators on varied issues, including general governance and administrative proceedings. Travis brings a unique perspective from having a background in corporate law and litigation matters. This dual background enables him to provide litigation clients with practical corporate law insight—particularly in shareholder and governance disputes—while advising corporate clients with a litigation-informed approach to risk management. Travis has been an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and has held a variety of roles including President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch.
