Virgil Hlus is a senior partner and co-chair of the firm’s Capital Markets, Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions Practice group and the Family Office Practice group. With over 30 years of experience, Virgil has represented many companies across a vast range of industries, including technology, mining, industrial, life sciences and consumer goods. Virgil has the technical skills to maneuver within the regulatory complexities that often arise in securities and corporate law. He has extensive experience helping companies go public, completing business combinations, engaging in reverse takeovers, restructuring businesses, conducting cross-border financings, advising on corporate governance-related matters and completing tax-driven transactions. He often acts as a business advisor and key principal at a strategic planning level for his clients, helping to formulate and execute goals for their overall commercial growth. Virgil has built a strong network of contacts, and frequently leverages these relationships to help his clients further develop business opportunities and navigate through regulatory issues. Virgil sits on several advisory and charitable boards and has been a frequent lecturer across North America. Virgil is called to both the British Columbia and California State Bars.
