Wayne Kerrick is a partner in the Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising in the areas of real estate, secured lending, and construction law. For over 30 years, he has completed numerous purchase, sale, and financing transactions of all manner and size and has represented banks, life insurance companies, and other high-profile lending institutions on a variety of commercial financing transactions. He has acted primarily on real estate asset-based transactions but has also handled other forms of commercial lending. Over the last several years, he has been retained to act on a number of significant construction loans involving many different types of development projects and has consequently garnered significant experience in the areas of construction financing and the review and interpretation of construction contracts. He also has extensive experience on non-lending real estate–related matters and transactions. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Law School and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1989. A former editor of the Ontario Residential Real Estate Guide (LexisNexis Canada), he was also managing partner of the Ottawa office of Gowling WLG from 2008 to 2011. He has been recognized in both The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada.
