Dentons has named Montreal partner Ilan Dunsky as the global leader of its industrials, transportation and infrastructure sector.
Dunsky is one of seven new global sector leaders appointed by the firm’s global management committee. Under the leadership framework, the sector heads will collaborate with other leaders and teams throughout Dentons.
Dunsky is the national co-chair of the firm’s infrastructure and public-private partnerships group. He is also a leader in Dentons’ global transportation and infrastructure practice.
He has worked on infrastructure development, PPPs, and project finance, especially in the energy, transportation, and health sectors. He has also assisted with the procurement of major international projects.
The Lexpert-ranked lawyer has advised domestic and international clients, including governments and government agencies. He has acted for technology and data-driven start-ups and established companies in the financing and development of activities.
Dunsky advised Public Services and Procurement Canada and the federal Ministry of Justice on the proposed replacement of the Royal Alexandra Interprovincial Bridge linking Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec, pursuant to a progressive design-build procurement model. He also assisted Transport Canada with the government’s high-frequency rail project.
He is both civil and common law qualified and was called to the bars of New York and Quebec. He has been on the Infrastructure Council’s board since 2012.
Prior to joining Dentons, Dunsky was a partner at McCarthy Tétrault and Heenan Blaikie.
