DLA Piper Canada has named Jeffrey Bradshaw co-chair of its Canadian restructuring group alongside Edmond Lamek.

Bradshaw replaces former co-chair Colin Brousson. Bradshaw has been with the firm since September 2020, having joined as an associate specializing in restructuring and insolvency law.

He has represented financial institutions, creditors, debtors, trustees and court-appointed receivers and monitors in proceedings for bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, and corporate restructurings. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Court of Appeal.

Bradshaw has worked with lenders and creditors and aims to maximize debt recovery for clients through negotiation, litigation, or out-of-court enforcement. He made partner at DLA Piper in January 2024.

“Jeffrey is a skilled and strategic practitioner who understands the complexities of restructuring law and the needs of our clients. With extensive experience across a broad range of insolvency proceedings, Jeffrey brings both technical excellence and sound judgment to his new role,” said Robert Seidel, DLA Piper Canada’s managing partner, in a statement.

Bradshaw was vice chair of the insolvency law section of CBA BC. He was part of the CBA BC’s insolvency and banking subsections and of the insolvency discussion group.

He was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2017 after obtaining his JD from the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law‎ in 2016. He clerked with the BC Supreme Court before joining Gowling WLG Canada.

Prior to starting his legal career, Bradshaw was the senior director of planning at the Jewish Federation of Ottawa, managing director of programming at the Vancouver Hillel Foundation, and education director and communications specialist at the Canadian Jewish Congress, per LinkedIn.

He has participated in the appeals program of Access Pro Bono, is on several Beth Israel Synagogue committees, and volunteered with Providence Health Care’s Providence in the Park.
