Marc Barbeau was appointed Chair of Stikeman Elliott LLP, and William (Bill) Braithwaite is stepping down as Chair after six years in the role. From 2005 until 2011, Barbeau headed the Montréal Business Law Group and from 2011 to 2015 was a member of the firm’s board. The firm’s upcoming priorities will include talent management and technology, he told American Lawyer magazine late last year. Barbeau will continue his practice and role as a partner in the firm’s corporate department.
