Alcatel Acquires iMagicTV

On April 30, 2003, Paris, France-based Alcatel acquired iMagicTV, pursuant to a plan of arrangement. iMagicTV’s Canadian office is located in Saint John, New Brunswick. The transaction, valued at approximately $50 million, was originally announced in February 2003.

Alcatel was represented in Canada, by Stikeman Elliott LLP with a team that included Simon Romano, Greg Hogan and Jason Brock (corporate/securities), John Lorito (tax), Eliot Kolers (litigation) and Sandy Walker (competition); and in the U.S., by Lauren Boglivi of Proskauer Rose LLP in New York, working under the direction of Alcatel in-house counsel Paul Wensel and Benoît Balmary.

iMagicTV was represented in Canada, by McCarthy Tétrault LLP, with a team that included Garth Girvan, W. Ian Palm, Jaspirt Gill, Paula McMullan, Marwan Awad, Kenneth Ng and Gabrielle Richards (tax); and in the U.S., by Rodney Moore of Vinson and Elkins in Dallas.
