Anadarko Petroleum Sells Anadarko Canada to Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.

On November 2, 2006, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation completed the sale of its Canadian subsidiary, Anadarko Canada Corporation, to Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) for US$4.085 billion. Anadarko Canada Corporation's assets include oil and gas properties in northeast British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the North West Territories and the Canadian Arctic. Excluded from the sale were Anadarko's properties in the Mackenzie Delta.

Houston-based Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is one of the world's largest independent public oil and gas exploration and production companies, with interests in the US, Canada, Brazil, Algeria, Venezuela, Qatar and Indonesia. Canadian Natural Resources Limited, based in Calgary, Alberta, is a senior independent public oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company with operations in Western Canada, the North Sea and offshore West Africa.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited's team was led by Allen Knight, CNRL's senior vice-president international and corporate development, Mary-Jo Case, vice-president land, Trevor Kratz, manager, budgets and financial planning, and Betty Yee, manager, acquisitions and divestitures.
