Bacou-Dalloz Acquires STX Protective Apparel

On April 1, 2003, Bacou-Dalloz Group, which provides personal protective equipment, acquired the assets of STX Protective Apparel Inc. and STX Protective Apparel Corp. for approximately US$15 million in cash.

Bacou-Dalloz was represented by in-house counsel Winfield Major; in Canada, by McCarthy Tétrault LLP with a team that included Benjamin Silver and Philippe Bourassa (corporate/ M&A), Lonnie Brodkin-Schneider (intellectual property), Yves Comtois (competition and Investment Canada), Marc Benoît (labour), Ylang Ha (tax) and Isabelle Tremblay (environment); and in the U.S., by Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP in Denver, Colorado with a team led by Kristin Lentz.

STX Protective Apparel was represented in Canada, by Stikeman Elliott LLP with a team that included Kevin Kyte and Annie Lagacé (corporate/M&A) in Montreal, and Mirko Bibic, Eugene Derényi and Justine Whitehead (intellectual property) in Ottawa, and by Catherine Tremblay and Pierre Lessard (tax) of Marchand Magnan Melançon Forget. In the U.S., STX Protective Apparel was represented by Davis Graham & Stubbs with a team led by Robert Attai.
