Birch Hill Equity Partners Acquires Shred-it International

On June 5, 2009, Shred-it International Inc. was acquired for an undisclosed sum by a private equity group led by Birch Hill Equity Partners, Crossroads Capital Investments Inc. and Westerkirk Capital Inc. Senior debt financing was provided by a lending syndicate led by National Bank of Canada and The Toronto-Dominion Bank.

Shred-it International, headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, provides on-site document destruction services and records retention information management primarily in Canada, the United States and Europe. The company was founded in 1988 by the late Greg Brophy.

Birch Hill's legal team was led in-house by Lori Evans, general counsel.
