FULCRUM CAPITAL PARTNERS ACQUIRES NILEX

An affiliate of Fulcrum Capital Partners Inc., a private equity and mezzanine financing firm, acquired a majority interest in Nilex Inc. (“Nilex”). Nilex distributes geo-synthetic materials and civil environmental products and technologies, and provides related services and support. Acquisition financing in support of the deal was provided by HSBC Bank Canada – Private Equity Sponsor Coverage Group. Financial details of the transaction were undisclosed.

Bryan & Company LLP acted as Canadian counsel to Nilex and Nilex's principal shareholders, with a team including Patrick Bond, QC, Craig Taylor and Ameen Tejani. Robert de Guzman of Dentons Canada LLP acted as counsel to HSBC Bank Canada in connection with the acquisition financing provided to Fulcrum.
