Ivanhoe Energy Files Registration STatement with SEC

On October 17, 2003, Ivanhoe Energy Inc., an oil and gas company headquartered in Vancouver, filed a registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to establish a US$100 million universal shelf for offerings of common shares, preferred shares, warrants and debt securities in the US under the multijurisdictional system.

Ivanhoe Energy was represented in Canada by Goodmans in Vancouver, with a team that included Paul Goldman, Steven Robertson and Michael Johnson; and in the US by Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, with a team that included Andrew Foley and David Tayar, and William O’Brien (environmental).
