Menu Foods Income Fund Completes $129M IPO

On May 22, 2002, Menu Foods Income Fund completed its $129 million initial public offering of 12.9 million units of the fund. Proceeds of the offering were used to indirectly acquire Menu Foods Limited, the leading manufacturer of private label wet pet food in Canada and in the U.S.

Menu Foods was represented by Goodmans LLP, with a team that included Stephen Halperin, Neill May, Meredith Roth and Bob Vaux; and by James Wilson (tax) of Wilson & Partners LLP.

The underwriting syndicate, which was led by National Bank Financial Inc., and included BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., TD Securities Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc., was represented by Torys LLP with a team that included Simon Knowling, Brian Davis, Mark Adkins, Tom McKinlay, Corrado Cardarelli and Ann Marie McGovern (tax), Len Griffiths (environmental), Lynette D’Souza and Sarah Gilbert.
