Roper Acquires Power Generation Business of R/D Tech

On June 7, 2004, Roper Industries, Inc. acquired the assets of the power generation business of R/D Tech Inc. (and its subsidiaries) in Quebec City, for a total purchase price of approximately $52 million. The power generation business designs and manufactures nondestructive evaluation systems for power generation applications. It will be combined with the operations of Roper’s subsidiary, Zetec, Inc., a leading full-solution provider of testing solutions for utility market applications.

Roper was represented by Blake, Cassels & Graydon in Montreal, with a team that included Sunny Handa, Marie-Hélène Constantin, Marie Sabourin, Philippe Décary, Monica Sharma and Natalie Bussière.

R/D Tech was represented by McCarthy Tétrault in Quebec City, with a team that included François Amyot, Philippe Boivin, Jean-François Dolbec and Mathieu Laflamme.
