TransForce Acquires Canpar Transport

On July 31, 2002, Quebec-based TransForce Inc., one of Canada’s largest transportation and logistics companies, acquired Canpar Transport Ltd., one of Canada’s largest small parcel delivery companies. TransForce acquired all the issued and outstanding shares of Canpar for $39 million.

TransForce was represented by Heenan Blaikie LLP, with a team led by Auguste Masson (corporate) in Montreal, and including Carl Belanger (corporate) in Montreal, and Paul Wickens and Maneli Badii (corporate) and Subrata Bhattacharjee and Jason Yustin (competition) in Toronto.

Canpar was represented by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto, with a team led by Alan Brown (corporate), and including Andrew Pollock (corporate) and Mark Nicholson and Kikelomo Lawal (competition).
