Davit advises on all aspects of Canadian competition/antitrust and foreign investment review law, including mergers, cartel defence and civil matters. He has acted as counsel for private parties and the Commissioner of Competition in numerous proceedings before the Canadian Competition Tribunal and in class actions and other complex, civil and criminal competition litigation matters at all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Davit is co-lead counsel for one of Canada’s largest grocery retailers and one of the two largest Canadian bread wholesalers in criminal and class action proceedings related to commercial bread pricing arising from what the former Commissioner of Competition has described as “the largest alleged conspiracy in the history of Canadian competition law enforcement”. He is the Chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the ABA Business Law Section and the Chair of the Criminal Matters Committee of the CBA National Competition Law Section. Davit clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada for Justice Louise Arbour.
