Joseph practises real estate law with a specialization in commercial leasing matters. He acts for several prominent Canadian and foreign owners, developers and tenants focussing on retail, office, industrial and specialty (e.g., solar/wind farm and credit tenant) leases. Joseph has worked on numerous transactions that have been named “Deal of the Year” by the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP). He has also worked on transactions that have been reported as the largest commercial lease transactions in the City of Toronto for the year in which they were completed. Joseph is a member of the board of editors for the Retail Law Strategist (an industry publication) and has authored several articles that have appeared in other publications (local, national and international). In addition, he co-authored the commercial leasing chapter included in the Law Society's Bar Admission Course materials. Joseph is also an active member of the Planning Committee for the law conference of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC). Joseph lectures extensively at real estate seminars, including the law conference of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) and the annual RealLeasing conference (both Toronto and Montréal).
