Long time law colleagues Colleen Burn, Laurie Tucker and Éliane Lachaîne founded the firm in 2014 to represent individuals in personal injury and disability insurance litigation.
The partners are certified by the Law Society of Ontario as Specialists in Civil Litigation. The firm represents clients facing personal challenges and trauma and ensures clients feel supported while navigating the litigation process. The firm lives by its motto “By Your Side and On Your Side.”

Colleen Burn has been a lawyer since 1992, representing injured and disabled individuals in disputes with insurance companies. Colleen is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation and a Chartered Insurance Professional. She sits on the Board of Directors of Vista Centre Brain Injury Services. Colleen is a principal organizer of the Brain Injury Association of Ottawa Valley’s annual fall fundraiser.
Laurie Tucker has been a lawyer since 2001 and is a Certified Specialist in Litigation. Laurie acts for clients in serious personal injury, wrongful death and long-term disability matters. Laurie is Past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA, 2023–2024). Laurie received the prestigious Regional Senior Justice Award for outstanding contribution to the community and the legal profession, the OTLA Women’s Caucus Award and OTLA’s Distinguished Service Award.
Éliane Lachaîne is a bilingual injury and disability lawyer having practised law since 2005. Éliane is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation and represents clients in personal injury and long-term disability matters. She is an active member of OTLA, contributing articles to The Litigator and speaking at conferences and webinars. Éliane helped launch the advocacy workshops organized by the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario and has been on the planning committee for the CCLA’s Annual Civil Litigation Conference since 2020.
Alison Gilmour has been a lawyer since 1995, having joined the firm in 2024. For 25 years, she has practiced disability and insurance litigation. She sues brokers/agents and lawyers in related litigation. Alison is Editor of OTLA’s LTD Newsletter and a Trustee of the Waterloo Region Law Association. The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory has listed Alison as recommended by her peers in Long-Term Disability.
Krista Potter has been a lawyer since 2022. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, she is fully bilingual, representing clients in French and English. Krista’s practice consists of personal injury, accident benefits, long-term disability, and CPP disability appeals. Krista sits on the Board of Directors for Pathways to Independence, an agency providing assistance to people with acquired brain injury or developmental disabilities.
Priya Shah was called to the bar in 2024. She handles personal injury and disability insurance claims. Priya currently serves as Vice Chair of OTLA’s New Lawyers Division. Fluent in Gujarati, Priya proudly serves a diverse community of clients.
