Alison Gilmour has been a disability lawyer for 25 years. She handles long term disability, short term disability, critical illness, life insurance and long term care insurance matters for people whose claims have been denied by their insurers. She has worked as a defence lawyer and mediator in life and disability which gives her valuable insight about insurers. Since 2014, Alison has acted for individual plaintiffs suing their insurers as well as handling related negligence claims against lawyers and insurance agents. Alison worked at a plaintiff boutique disability law firm in Toronto between 2014 and 2024. Alison joined Burn Tucker Lachaîne PC in 2024, leveraging her expertise in disability and insurance matters with the firm’s reputation and skill as experienced trial lawyers. Alison has appeared across Canada on disability and life insurance matters. She was called to the Manitoba bar in 2023.
