Alex develops business-focused, outcome-driven legal solutions for clients involved in complex commercial disputes. She has considerable experience in contested merger transactions, take-over bids, plans of arrangement, shareholder activism, dissent proceedings and contractual disputes and has appeared at all levels of Court in Canada. She also regularly represents clients in connection with regulatory investigations by law enforcement around the world. Her crisis management experience includes advising companies in connection with cybersecurity breaches, alleged violations of anti-corruption legislation, fraud, accounting irregularities and whistleblower claims. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner and conducted internal investigations for companies with operations around the world. She has significant experience working on behalf of financial institutions as well as mining, resource, health sciences and technology companies. Alex is an active supporter of pro bono legal initiatives and also speaks and publishes extensively on subjects including corporate governance, organizational culture, fraud, asset recovery and crisis response. She is the Chair of the Diversity Committee of Blakes Vancouver office and also contributes regularly to training and mentoring initiatives.

On September 30, 2015, BSM Technologies Inc. and Webtech Wireless Inc. completed the previously announced transaction by way of a court approved plan of arrangement under the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia). Pursuant to the plan of arrangement, Webtech has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSM and all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Webtech were transferred to BSM in consideration for the issuance by BSM of 2.136 common shares of BSM and a cash payment of $0.52 for each Webtech share.
